Terms of Use

Last updated June 6, 2026

1. Acceptance

By downloading or using PAUSE, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. What PAUSE is

PAUSE is a stress-management and decision-support tool. It helps you pause, organize your thinking, and produce a Strategy, Facts, and a Plan for a situation you describe.

3. Not professional advice

PAUSE does not provide medical, mental-health, psychological, legal, or financial advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and is not a substitute for a qualified professional. PAUSE is not a crisis or emergency service. If you are in crisis or may harm yourself or others, contact your local emergency number (911 in Canada and the US) or a crisis line (988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline in Canada and the US) immediately.

4. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your region) to use PAUSE. You are responsible for your account and for keeping your login credentials secure.

5. Subscriptions and billing

PAUSE offers free use and paid monthly subscription tiers. Paid plans are billed through Stripe on a recurring monthly basis until cancelled. You may cancel at any time; cancellation stops future renewals, and access continues through the end of the current paid period. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the service. This includes no unlawful use, no attempts to breach or disrupt security, no reverse engineering, no automated scraping, and no use that infringes the rights of others.

7. Your content

You retain ownership of the content you enter. You grant PAUSE a limited licence to process your input solely to provide the service, including AI generation as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Intellectual property

PAUSE, its branding, and its software are owned by us and protected by law. These Terms grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app.

9. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that guidance will be accurate, complete, or suitable for your situation. You are responsible for your own decisions.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PAUSE is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for decisions you make based on the app. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or to protect the service.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Ontario, Canada.
